Did you think that America would ever see the day that an “imperial president” could bypass Congress, the People’s representatives, and take away a person’s private business without payment of any sort and render them virtually worthless overnight? This is happening to owners of thousands of profitable automobile dealerships across our country.
President Obama has enabled General Motors, after propping them up with our tax dollars, to send a faceless Fed Ex directive to private business owners, demanding that they sign a document giving GM, now a government-owned company, its assets and its customer list, which will be given to competitors. Michael Barone, a senior writer with U.S. News & World Report and the principal co-author of The Almanac of American Politics, has called this “gangster government”.
Representative Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) describes a situation during a Congressional hearing how a 90-year-old car company, and others, have suffered this fate. Yet, those who have a close political connection to a Democrat Congressman can get the Obama administration to throw them a lifeline and can keep their businesses, while others are cast out into the un-American abyss that seems to be gradually enveloping American free enterprise. If this can happen to someone else today, it could happen to you tomorrow. If government can take over and politicize the automobile industry, it can do the same to another industry.
